Weather: Warm and dry…
Health: Hyped on the newly found $2 iced coffees at McDonalds
Morale: Meat coma and jet lag
Food: Meat courtesy of Nebraska cows
Current location: Chappell, Nebraska… but we can’t find Dave Chappelle.. or any African Americans in that case…
Next Landmark: the original Cabella’s, the Sierra Trading Post Outlet, oh and The Rocky Mountain National Park
Miles Travelled: approx. 2300
Our big stop of the day was the Strategic Air and Space Museum in Nebraska. Ro and Russ loved the planes and ran around completely over stimulated and loving every minute of it. Jess thought to herself: “I really need to have a girl so I’m not going to these places the rest of my life.”
The second stop was the home of Wild Bill. We played into the tourist trap and visited Fort Cody- then went for some yummy steaks over a wood fire. Ro mainly ate the peanuts and played in the piles of shells all over the floor.
As we lay our weary heads in the RV park next to 80, we hear the many fireworks going off across Nebraska, the frequent trains passing dangerously close to our poppy, and the melodic tone of tractor trailers in the distance. Is this our dream? No- but it sure is Ro’s…. oddly enough, our best internet connection yet on this trip and all for $12.00!
Note to self- keeping a 2 year old in the car 70% of the day leads to a bouncing baby at midnight……
