First thanks for advice on the coffee- in the end Jess or Russ trekked to the lodge each day for some fresh brew… interested in trying out that press though. We’ve had a great stay in Grand Teton park with the exception of the monster size mosquitoes who love Russ. Odd for they usually gravitate toward Jess so she is enjoying a little pay back.
We headed toward Grand Teton through Lander, WY and had some great beaver brew at the pub there as well as enormous salads. Ro tried desperately to make some friends with the little girls running around. He tried 3 strategies: giving them sticks, running circles around them, and lifting up his shirt. We tried to tell him the last one was a bit too forward, but the boy was on fire!
We made it into Grand Teton.. barely, with Jess driving like an old lady and avoiding mule deer left and right. We got a great campsite on Jenny Lake in the park and are loving the peace and quiet. That is until we found out a bear was put to sleep as we tell Ro.. in our campground the night before for becoming aggressive after getting into food in people’s tents. That quickly made us throw all food and cooking supplies into the car for the remainder of the trip!
Ro found the dirt to be of the finest quality in Grand Teton… nice and powder fine for rubbing in his hair and generally rolling in it. He pretty much ran around with a cloud following him and I truly believe now in the existence of pig pen from Charlie Brown.

We went for a great hike around Jenny Lake, actually took a boat across Jenny Lake to Hidden Falls, and then went on to Inspiration Point. Ro finally made friends with a chippy utilizing a bag of Cheetos… poor Chippy with the bright orange fur…

Wisely, Russ suggested that Wed. be a day on our own. We were due for one. He did a 11 mile hike to Ampitheatre Lake at 10,000 feet while Ro and Jess hiked around Jackson Hole eating and shopping.

It was a great day for everyone. That night after Russ finally showered… (thank goodness!) we headed up Signal Mountain for dinner and on the way back down saw a bear. It was fun to watch the little grizzly. We’ve also seen elk and bison… still looking for the infamous moose though…

Russ - you have all my sympathy with the mosquitos! I got bitten all over my feet when we were staying at Lake Erie (or Lake Dreary as I now like to call it). I woke everyone up at 4.45am with really itchy feet! That was when we decided that it was time to go home. Hoping that we can meet up in Chicago!!! Would be so much fun. Emily tells me that she is going to wear a pretty dress for the Ro-ro! Get ready for some kisses! Also, she wants Ro to know that she licked a puppy yesterday! Yep! I was pretty embarrassed as the owners of the puppy were complete strangers. I assured them that she'd had all of her shots and left!
